In my previous post you will have heard me mention the photographer Mark Bauer and how he inspired some of the images I captured, if you are interested in finding out more about him and why I was inspired by him then this post is for you.
Mark Bauer is known to be one of he UK's leading landscape and seascape photographers specialising in atmospheric images in the South West of England, his work has been published all around the world.
He first became interested in photography when he was living abroad in the early 1990's, he is now renowned for his beautiful images of his home county of Dorset and other locations in the South West of England.
I find his work mind blowing, my eyes instantly being drawn to Bauer's work. It is so breathtaking, he really knowns how to bring out the sheer beauty of our natural surroundings and make us realise how lucky we are to live in the world that we do.
I like the fact he uses a variety of dramatic compositions alongside atmospheric lighting to create his pieces; this is something Mark really focuses on and I believe makes his work stand out from others.
Bauer tends to use extensive depth of field alongside guiding lines and curves to create images that draw your eyes into a particular part he feels is most important. The aspect I decided to take from Mark Bauer's work is reflections. The reason being is that mirror-like reflections become most striking to the eye when colour is evident and with it being autumn it works out perfectly.
